Quality New Home Construction
Our homes not only look beautiful, they are also built with quality and integrity. We know our clients want to work with a builder who will complete their new home on time and on budget – without cutting corners. That’s why we aim to exceed our client’s expectations as well as many home building standards. For example, Green Built certification requires that a builder meet certain standards to maximize the heating and cooling efficiency for his client’s home. It is also concerned about the indoor air quality of the home. Green Built requires a new home to have an R-Value* of 44 in the ceiling and 19 in the walls. Home Comfort Company exceeds these standards by using Blown In Blatts Insulation (BIBS) for an R-Value of 23 in the walls to keep your home cool in the summer and warm in the winter. We use a higher volume of cellulose insulation in the ceiling to achieve an R-Value of 50. Because we live in the Minocqua area, we make sure our windows are Energy Star rated for a northern region. Additionally, we prefer to use the RenewAire Exchanger, a premium air system that ventilates and brings fresh air into a home.
We also partner with an Amish cabinetmaker to design and build the custom cabinetry for our homes. While most manufactured cabinets are made of 3/8″ particle board covered with a thin veneer of wood or faux wood, our craftsmen use 3/4″ furniture grade plywood laminated in actual wood with dove tailed drawers and soft close hardware. Clients choose from a beautiful array of colors, finishes and cabinet styles to achieve the custom cabinetry of their dreams.

*Insulation levels are specified by R-Value. R-Value is a measure of insulation’s ability to resist heat traveling through it. The higher the R-Value the better the thermal performance of the insulation. For more information on R-Value, visit the energystar.gov.
